The Family Privacy Audit: How to See What Strangers Can Find About You
If someone wanted to find you, what could they discover in 15 minutes?
Most families never ask that question — until something happens.
How to run your own privacy audit:
Search your full name with your city/state — check the first 3 pages of results.
Search your phone number — see if it links to addresses or profiles.
Search your home address — note any property records, maps, or past listings.
Check image searches for photos tied to your name.
Look for family member profiles and connections that reveal relationships.
Closing the gaps:
Request removal from data broker sites.
Delete old accounts you no longer use.
Adjust privacy settings on active accounts.
Use PO boxes or registered agents for non-personal deliveries and records.
If you don’t know what’s visible, you can’t control who sees it.
