Carved Stories
in Wood
Carved relief works for collected interiors.
Edge Point creates dimensional wood works built from story, surface, shadow, and restraint. Each piece is carved, hand-finished, framed, and released in limited numbers.
The work is designed for private offices, studies, libraries, lodges, and interiors where the object itself should carry presence.
The Ascent of Man
A carved walnut relief tracing the human climb from survival and labor into industry, invention, and exploration.
The work studies progress as inheritance: effort, risk, ambition, and consequence carried forward across generations.
Smoke, cities, tools, wilderness, machines, satellites, and figures in motion share the same carved surface. From a distance, it reads as one ascent. Up close, it becomes a field of smaller burdens and ambitions.
The Threshold
A carved walnut relief built around the edge between wilderness and passage.
The stag stands at the old growth while a weathered doorway opens into a distant landscape. Root, stone, timber, bird, mountain, and path gather around the same question: what lies beyond the frame?
The longer it is viewed, the more the scene shifts from landscape into decision.
Stillwater Wings
A carved walnut relief centered on a dragonfly among iris, thistle, and quiet field forms.
The piece studies the fragile architecture of nature: wing, stem, petal, seed, and curve held in a still moment.
It is the quietest work in the current release — restrained, botanical, and built for interiors that need calm without becoming empty.
The Thirteenth Star
A carved oak relief centered on the American eagle, founding symbolism, and the long burden of inheritance.
Stars, script, maritime references, and ornamental structure gather into a compact work built for close, deliberate viewing.
Framed in walnut with maple splines, brass pins, and brass feet, the piece is scaled as an intimate collector object for a shelf, desk, library, mantel, or private interior.
The Work
Each relief begins as a composed image built for depth, shadow, and physical presence. The final work is carved into real material, finished by hand, framed or presented with intention, and released as an original, one-of-one study, or limited edition.
Composed
Designed around narrative, balance, and the way the piece reads across a room.
Carved
Formed into wood so light, shadow, and surface become part of the finished work.
Finished
Hand-finished for tone, contrast, depth, and long-term presence.
Released
Signed with the IH maker’s mark and released in controlled editions.
